  • European media art festival Osnabrueck: Van Gogh TV first local television project

1989

  • Founding director of the Ponton - European media Art lab together with Mike Hentz, Benjamin Heidersberger in Hamburg. Ponton is a laboratory for the development and research of the possibilities of interactive television.
  • Eastern Europe tour of Van Gogh TV (before the fall of the wall) through Poland, GDR, USSR, Hungary.
  • " Debile, immobile monotony " at the Ars Electronica festival in Linz, first satellite television project on 3sat; in co-operation with ORF, ZDF the second channel of German Television and SRG.
  • Establishment of University TV in co-operation with the University for visual Arts in Hamburg under integration of the students; Several cable TV transmissions in the Hamburg cable TV network

1990

  • " Hotel Pompino " Van Gogh TV a television project for Ars Electronica festival in Linz, over satellite. European-wide interactive call in and talk back show, the television audience could directly interact with the virtual stage in real time by telephone and computer. VGTV developed for the first time a Cyberspace TV that combines, interactivity trough telephone and computer, linked to a virtual set studio setup. In co-operation with ORF, ZDF the second channel of German Television and SRG.

1992

  • " Piazza Virtuale " Van Gogh TV container city in the town center, 16 containers as transmitting and production studios on Documenta the 9 in Kassel. Worldwide first interactive television project, participation of up to 15000 callers per our transmissions over satellite in Europe, the USA and Japan. In co-operation with ORF, ZDF the second channel of German Television and SRG, European Space Agency and NHK.

1993

  • The USA tour of Van Gogh TV in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.
  • " Piazza Virtuale " - Van Gogh TV broadcasts in Japan for NHK live transmissions over satellite.
  • On LINE/art in the network in Graz
  • On the air/art in the public data space in Innsbruck, Austria.
  • "Piazza revival " for the Mediale Festival in Hamburg, interactive television broadcast in co-operation with 3sat and ZDF the second channel of German Television.
  • with Van Gogh TV- winner of the German media art price 1993, of ZKM (Karlsruhe)

1994

  • Establishment of the Ponton European media art lab in Hanover; Artistic Director
  • "Service aerie a.i." project for Ars Electronica in Linz: director and artistic conductor. Television satellite project on 3sat. First project where Internet and TV were brought together. An installation of an electronic stage with sensor technique and 3d sound this was structured and united to a three-dimensional virtual world. Interaction possibility between telephone and computer users, stereovision by means of 3d glasses. Co-operation with ORF, ZDF Second Channel of German Television and SRG
  • " Comenius " (Internet project for tele-learning): project manager up to dez.1994 for Dete Berkom and German Telekom

1995

  • Establishment of Van Gogh Television in Seevetal near Hamburg, Laboratory for network projects; CEO and artistic conductor

  • Appointment as the artistic Chair for the VRML99 conference in Paderborn
  • Museum of contemporary art, Skopje, Macedonia: VMS virtual museum system presentation and workshop.
  • 3d stereo projection of virtual spaces, on the occasion of the opening of the Bewag in Berlin
  • " Living archives " course at the university for visual arts Vienna, master class Professor Franz Graf, topic: " Three-dimensional design in the real and virtual space "
  • " Virtual museum system -VMS ": together with Martin Schmitz. Research work with curators and art historians for a database system for the Sprengel Museum Hannover.

1999

  • Emac Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Troy the USA: artist in residence and courses at electronics art department.
  • Artistic director of the " VRML 1999 " worldwide exhibition over 3d VRML-ART Show, visualization in the Internet, Siemens Nixdorf museum Paderborn.
  • Appointment as a guest professor and director of the department for media design at the university for applied art in Vienna. Austria

2000

  • Artistic director of the " VRML 2000 " worldwide exhibition over 3d VRML-ART Show, visualization in the Internet, Monterey, Californian.
  • Restructuring and rebuilding of the digital media department at the University of applies arts, coordination of building process and technical installations.
